3 Days Sahara Desert Trekking
This 3-day camel trekking adventure takes you deep into the Moroccan Sahara from the desert village of M’Hamid, where the road ends and the real journey begins. Walk alongside experienced nomads, explore untouched dunes like Erg BERTAM or Erg AIT ONIR, and experience life in the desert with traditional meals and nights spent under the stars or in Berber tents. Perfect for those seeking a short but immersive desert experience, this trek offers breathtaking landscapes, cultural encounters, and total peace.
- Itinerary
Day 1: M’Hamid – BERTAM
Start of the dromedary trek in Mhamid. After a two-hour walk (or camel ride), we will find a cosy spot in the shade to enjoy our first delicious lunch and then relax. Afterwards, another hour-long walk will take us to our first campsite called Bartam. There we pitch our tents for the first night and enjoy the sunset in the dunes. When it gets dark, we light a warming fire, marvel at the breathtaking starry sky and, in the meantime, the kitchen team prepares dinner. You can choose whether you want to sleep in a tent or under the open sky and marvel at the Milky Way
Day 2:BERTAM – Erg AIt onir
Afterwards, we enjoy our first breakfast in the Sahara. Meanwhile, the team begins dismantling the camp and, refreshed, we set off towards Kriat Jmal. We pass a well and watch the dromedaries fill their humps with water. Today, the kitchen team will once again treat us to a delicious lunch on the way. After the break, the trail leads us to the next campsite tallhat. After dinner, the sound of drums and the crackling of the fire accompany the breathtaking atmosphere of the Sahara.
Day 3: ait onir – M’Hamid
After breakfast, begin the return trek to M’Hamid. Enjoy the last moments of desert silence before arriving back in the village around midday. Optional shower and lunch available upon arrival.
