Explore the majestic Sahara Desert on this immersive 4-day camel trekking experience. Starting from M’Hamid, the last village before the dunes, you’ll travel with a caravan of camels and experienced nomadic guides into the vast and wild desert. This trek takes you further into remote dunes such as Erg Zahar or Erg Smar, offering total disconnection, scenic diversity, and nights under star-filled skies. A perfect adventure for those looking to slow down, connect with nature, and discover the desert like a true nomad.

Day 1: M’Hamid – Sidi Naji

After meeting your guide and camel team in M’Hamid, begin your trek toward Sidi Naji, an old marabout site surrounded by sand and silence. Walk across hamada (rocky desert) and small dunes. Lunch en route. Set up camp near Sidi Naji. Dinner and overnight in a desert bivouac.

Day 2: Sidi Naji – Erg Zahar

Depart after breakfast and continue your camel caravan toward Erg Zahar, known for its towering dunes and panoramic views. This area is untouched and peaceful. Arrive in time for sunset over the dunes. Dinner and overnight in a wild camp.

Day 3: Erg Zahar – Erg Smar or Return Route

Depending on conditions and pace, continue deeper into the desert toward Erg Smar, a quiet and isolated zone near the old riverbed. Enjoy lunch along the way, explore the changing desert landscape, and set up camp in the afternoon. Spend another night under the stars or in tents.

Day 4: Return to M’Hamid

After breakfast, begin the trek back to M’Hamid. Enjoy your final steps through the Sahara and return around midday. Optional lunch and shower available at your guesthouse.
